Ali challenge #11

one little word
This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end.

A few friends have taken up Ali's challenges in the past... It's the New Year and I'm hoping to find more commitment, energy and inspiration to scrap more pages more regularly and Ali's challenges seem like a great way to help me do that!

After reading about this year's first challenge I first jotted down a few words which describe what I want for 2007: Calm, Bright, Merry, Joy (obviously having trouble moving on from all those recent XMAS sentiments!) Enjoy, Chill, Cruise, Serenity, Sweet... Then I rushed off to the bookcase to hunt for some inspirational quotes to get me thinking and lo and behold I stumble across some sage advice from the universe (AKA me) written in my meditation journal from October 2004:

"what you DO or the ACTIVITY is not important :: find the JOY in the things you are doing :: the importance lies in the people around you :: LOVE and CARE for those around you :: it will not matter to you in 80 years of you were good at tasks :: you will REMEMBER and value your interactions with others :: enjoy the small things :: stop pushing and driving yourself :: ENJOY the moments and be at PEACE"

This struck a chord with me for 2007...

Especially now that we have Katie it makes good sense to really enoy the time we have, 2006 flew by and the years ahead will no doubt be the same, in the meantime a reminder to make the most of our time together, sharing with friends and family, sounds mighty fine to me!
