Overdue update :: open day

It's been donkeys since I blogged, so here's a few pics of Kate at the local open day at the fire station (way back in April). Kate's 'Uncle' Matt volunteers with the SES, so we came along to have some fun!

We sat in a couple of firetrucks (with the lights and sirens on!)

and on the police motor bike,



met the SES mascot 'Paddy' Platypus, got balloons, ate sausages at the sausage sizzle,



met the police horses, saw the police 'drugs' dog and got to see Uncle Matt and his mate Glenn abseiling, we saw demonstrations of the SES chainsaws in action, got our face-painted


and had a close encounter with the police bomb disposal robot... what more could a 2 1/2 year old want?
